31 JanMagic Words For Your Landing Pages

If you’re building an email list, then one of the most important sales letters you’ll write is your squeeze page (AKA landing page). And that’s because a good squeeze page can pull in a high double-digit conversion rate to build your list up fast. Meanwhile, a weak squeeze page will let tons of prospects slip through your fingers.

If you want to build a big, targeted list quickly, then use these five copywriting tips as a guideline:

1. Use “magic words” on your sales page. Marketing experts have discovered that certain “trigger words” attract attention and compel people to keep reading. You can make your sales copy using these magic words, such as:

  • You
  • Free
  • Announcing
  • Amazing
  • Discover
  • Secrets
  • Revealed
  • How to
  • Guaranteed
  • Find out
  • Learn
  • Quickly
  • Easily
  • Proven
  • Revolutionary

2. Give plenty of thought to your headline. The headline is the most important part of your landing page, simply because its job is to command attention and compel the reader to keep reading. If the headline doesn’t do its job, your reader hits the back button faster than you can say, “What went wrong?”

As such, you need to take your time with your headline. Start off by thinking about your prospects and what they MOST want. Then consider which of your product’s benefits most closely matches your prospect’s desires – that main benefit should become part of your headline. Finally, you can add in some of the “trigger words” to make your headline more compelling.

EXAMPLE:
“Now You Too Can Discover the Secrets of Earning a Six Figure Income With a Blog!”

3. Arouse curiosity. One of the keys to creating a great headline is to arouse curiosity. You can use the headline to arouse curiosity about the sales letter itself so that the reader keeps reading, or you can use the headline to arouse curiosity about the product itself.

Here’s an example of arousing curiosity about the sales letter itself:

“Here’s How a Former Waitress Went from Scraping by on Tips to Earning a Million Dollars in Just One Year!”

Here’s an example of arousing curiosity about the product:

“Secret SEO Tool Puts You on the Front Page of Google for Almost ANY Keyword!”

TIP: You should also use curiosity in your bullets. The idea is to create curiosity about your product so that the prospect feels compelled to purchase your product (as a way to satisfy his curiosity).

EXAMPLE:

“See page 10 to discover a sneaky little trick you can use to triple your conversion rate… fast!”

4. Provide a call to action. Don’t assume that your prospects know what to do when they get to end of your sales letter. You need to give them clear, specific instructions such as, “Enter your first name and email address in the form below now to get your free report!”

5. List benefits, NOT features. Your prospects are primarily interested in what a product does for them (i.e., benefits). And that’s why you need to focus on the benefits.

EXAMPLE: A feature of an ebook is that it’s 25 pages. The benefit is that it’s a “quick and easy read” or that it’s a “no-fluff, no-filler” guide.

There you have it – five simple tips you can use to quickly and easily boost your landing page conversion rate!

I suggest you apply these tips immediately. Because the sooner you do, the faster your list will grow!
